Hello there, I'm Rose. I'm from Harbin-- that city that turns into a winter Wonderland of ice and snow, where street ice sculptures glow under the lights, just like the little spark of warmth I always carry in my heart. I'm 60 now. Before retiring, I worked as an accountable; I crunched countless numbers, but I could never really up all the little surprises life holds. Now, time is entirely my own, and each day unfolds like an open travel journal: some mornings I might be gliding through the pool, afternoon playing table tennis with friends, and weekends grabbing my backpack to head for the mountains. I've trekked through most of China's scenic spot-- the sunrise over Mount Tai, the sea of clouds above Huangshan, the lakes of Jiuzhaigou … their beauty is etched in my memory. And it's not just at home. Over the years, I've wandered far: chased sheep across New Zealand's grasslands, collected shells on Australia's beaches, smelled the aroma of bread in French alleyways, sunbathed bench Switzerland's snow-capped mountains, and traced the marks of time on the old city walls of Eastern Europe. My U.S. and U.K. visas are still valid, and I'm always thinking, When will I head out again? There's a space in my heart that's been waiting-- for someone to take the hiking pole I hand over, to share an energy bar with me at the summit; someone to pass me a tower by the pool, ginning and saying, "Your stroke is still sharper than when you were younger"; someone to count off "passport, charger, meds" with me while packing, then suddenly say, "Why not swing by Greece? I hear the sunsets in Santorini are breathtaking. " \NMy son is married with a career, so I don't need to worry over him. My siblings are in China, and we look out for each other, which puts my mind at ease. Life is simple and uncluttered now-- I just need a companion. Nothing complicated: someone decent and easy going, with a strong body to keep up with me; Someone with a warm heart, who'd understand the spark in my eyes when I spot a cozy café on a foreign street corner. We could spend weekends cleaning the house, wiping windows side by side as the sun streams in; or we could suddenly book a flight, turning retirement into a never-ending journey. I'm an outgoing person. I'm not fussy about food, but I love eating healthy, and I've got plenty of energy when I'm active. All the travel experience I've built up over the years? I'd make a pretty good "living map" for us on the road. As for you? Just bring the willingness to see the world with me. After all, the wind on a mountain climb, the waves in the pool, the sound of a foreign language on a street corner -- none of it feels quite complete without someone to share it with.
