Atypical and looking for something specific
First let me just say so it is visible that if you haven't written anything about yourself in your profile and you message me, I will not respond to you. There would be absolutely no reason to since I know nothing about you. So for my part, here are some things about me. I am a quiet, private, academically minded person with very little social life except the occasional phone call with friends or family, all of whom live out of the state or country. I have not dated in over nine years, because I have a nine year old son whose life I did not want to destabilize. I realize my life choices may seem a little strange in terms of current societal norms, but that's me. For a long time, my social life has been my son, because that was exactly how I wanted it. Now that he is older, however, I think it will be okay for me to start looking for a potential relationship. Professionally, I am mostly a software developer at the moment, though I am working on a book that is almost finished. I have bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science, did my graduate research in artificial intelligence, and was recently in the midst of joining a PhD program in a biology field, but that was delayed due to the pandemic. I'll be moving out of Alaska and back to the lower 48 to resume that plan next year. I am an independent thinker, am highly logical, and I don't drink or smoke. There could never be enough time in the world for me to learn all the things I want to learn, master all the skills I want, or create all the things I want to create. I am always busy with projects, professional or personal, and it makes no difference to me which. I don't care much about going out, since I am never bored or lacking things to do at home. Sometimes I enjoy traveling or going out to dinner, but these are not things I require. I really just love learning new things and leading a quiet life. I'm not sure what to write about myself beyond that. If you have any questions, just ask.
