Hard to write about oneself. This process is new to me. I am an architect and professor by trade and spent most of life, thus far, building a career. Friends say that I am straightforward, independent and honest. I lead a quiet and disciplined life focussed on hard work and helping those around me. I am happy and have been lucky. For that I am most gracious. In school I was the shy, nerdy academic kid who read the entire Old English Literature section to occupy myself. I hung out with the disadvantaged kids even in university. People tell me their life stories which I love . Everyone's life is a book waiting to be written. It is quite an honor to be so trusted. I can speak to just about anyone but have very few people that are close. Things I find enjoyable- other than architecture and art - sunrises, the sound of wind in trees, hoar frost coating everything in January in my city, the sound and smell of the sea, rugged Canadian landscapes, skating on black ice (although I am not a great skater) poetry, eastern philosophy and mysticism, astronomy -sorry I won't go on. Most of all I need solitude. If all that I find here are some great great friends that is also fine. I will someday end up living in nature with my paints, books and poetry. There is already a man in my life -little fluffy "Casper" who was on death row. He is a rescue that I rehabilitated for my elderly mother and when she died I got stuck with him. A bit silly how attached we are now to each other. Dogs are so many things that we are not.
