m young(ish) free and single; a scientist by trade; I returned to the Oxford area for work in 2019 after working for 20+ years overseas (in Portugal and Australia); just by chance I am back living very near to the area where I grew up. I’ve been exploring the local area to see what’s changed since I got back. Outside of work, which takes up more of my time than I would like, I like to be on, near, or in the water whenever I can – which in Oxfordshire means a lot of river walks. I wouldn't necessarily describe myself as the life and soul of a party, but I think (hope?) my friends would describe me as kind, friendly, positive, maybe a bit reserved at first around people I don't know. I'm definitely independent, but miss having someone in my life to share experiences with. My biggest hobby used to be diving (anywhere. not just warm water), although these days colder water is becoming less and less appealing. I also like swimming, canoeing and have sailed in the past (up to RYA day skipper level) and I would love to get back into it one day. I also like cycling too, travelling, photography & long walks in the countryside (and city) as well. I like dining out (who doesn't?) concerts (classical as well as rock), theatre occasionally and the odd film or two, and I like wandering around art galleries and museums too. Since I moved away, most of my friends have scattered to various parts of the UK and around the world, so I don’t get to see them too often these days, and I have fewer opportunities to get out and meet new people these days (either at work or outside of work); especially those of a similar age.
